What is caries?
Caries, the mouth of bacteria in the mouth of food, food residues as a result of the supply of acidic by-products in the irreversible destruction of the main structure of the tooth enamel.Mine layer is the hardest layer of our body. However, the bruise line, which is more soft after the 1.5-2 mm enamel layer, progresses rapidly and approaches the pulp layer where the nerves and veins of the tooth are found. In the meantime, before the sensitivity of the sugar foods, cold sensitivity and, finally, the sensitivity of the hot is seen. Sometimes the bruise is so chronic that you have no pain in your teeth without necrosis (loss of vitality). .
How can we protect from caries?
We need to brush our teeth regularly in order to prevent the bacteria in our mouth to settle on our teeth in a plaque (bacterial plaque) and to form amides from sugar or to make enzymes that will disrupt the organic structure of the enamel.
Brushing should be done at least twice a day, lying in the morning and at night, and the front, back and top surfaces of the teeth should be brushed to the gums.
Since the bacteria cannot be removed by brushing, dental floss should be used after brushing.
Nutritional habits are also an important factor in dental caries. Be careful when consuming sugar and acidic foods (brushing our teeth after consuming these foods, at least rinsing our mouths with water, etc.) and not consuming too much will reduce the formation of caries.
In addition, every 6 months to check your teeth to your dentist, the newly formed bruises, allows treatment without progress.
How does Caries progress?
Especially carbohydrate foods that accumulate on the deformed enamel produce more acid and cause the caries to go deeper. Since the dentin layer underneath the enamel layer is softer than the enamel, the bruise advances and grows faster when it comes to this layer.
In general, the decay between our teeth, we may not notice for a long time.
